The job order on this painting was clear: It had to be an erotic painting.
When people say erotic painting I involuntarily think of croquis drawings of more or less voluptuous naked women in awkward positions - a cliché I would like to distance myself from. The goal I put up for myself was to paint an erotic painting, that would not show people but still capture the concept of eroticism.
Simultaneously, I have been working on the idea of expanding the Flower series, so what was more natural than to create Flower III - an absolutely non-erotic title that creates a contrast to the actual motives of the two curious flowers.
